Seriously, why can't we ever get decent music in a 30 second ad? I'm sick of the psych wars advertising agencies are waging--"if its annoying they'll remember it longer! That means they'll like our product!!!"
So we all got sick of hearing "This is ouuurrrr couuntryyyyyyy", and thankfully I don't see those Chevy ads anymore.
But now I keep hearing "I LIKE TA LIVE ON DA EEEDDDGGGEEE-UUHH!" Please Ford, make it stop. Not only is your song annoying, but your whole ad campaign is visually ludicrous. And No, I don't think your little disclaimer at the end is cute.n
And now, Verizon Wireless has Roiding Gym Jock hyping his "new" Fallout Boy song. No, the song itself ain't half bad, but again more psych wars. The ad is LOUDER than anything else on TV--louder even than the Ford ad. But that's not the worst part. Roiding Gym Jock is probably the most annoying ad character ever created! First off, he's a sweaty pig on TV. Seeing this ad is an argument AGAINST having HDTV, because the beads of sweat on his scraggly beard are just disgusting. And the voice is so cliche its not even funny. I guess we're supposed to laugh at this asshole and his stupidity and how he's not spotting his friend, but c'mon, its too much. Whatever happened to subtle humor (yes, I used to watch Frasier)?? And then he gets a call from his girlfriend? This monster of a cliche actually has a girlfriend--who actually bothers to call HIM? Now they've ruined the cliche, because Roiding Gym Jocks aren't supposed to have girlfriends--they're supposed to date bimbos who hookup for the one-night stand and NEVER CALL BACK. There's no justice here! Am I the only one who feels this way?
So yeah, which ad is more annoying? See poll. I think you know where my vote lies.
