SOrry but bond SHOULD NOT have a gut.

I mean chicks don't like dudes with guts do they?

As long as you don't have the "Dick Do Syndrome", I think you're OK. ;)

I'd love to see a nationwide poll on this. Sean Connery would probably get 90+% of the vote. And with good reason. :D

Even though Roger Moore took a lot of the toughness out of the Bond character, I actually enjoyed his more tounge-in-cheek sense of humor in the role and he still had some of the better movies in the series. Timothy Dalton did ok and brought some masculinity back to the role, but had absolutely NO personality. Lazenby doesn't even warrant mentioning. Brosnan has been the best all around Bond since Connery. I've enjoyed his portrayl. He's actually brought a bit more depth and even darkness to the character. Nobody will ever top Connery though. He IS James Bond.

How about asking some Bond questions that are actually debatable? (edited slightly)

-Who was the best M?
-The best Moneypenny?
-Q or R?
-Best mastermind villan?
-Best henchman? (since the two aren't always the same)
-Best Bond movie?

My answers would be:
-Judi Dench (She's done better than any of the crotchety old guys)
-Lois Maxwell (she was old from day 1, but played the role forever)
-Q (I love John Cleese as much as anyone, but I gotta go with Q for now)
-Auric Goldfinger
-Jaws
-Goldfinger

- Bernard Lee, the original M, although Judy Dench is good too.

- Lois Maxwell, the original Moneypenny

- Q all the way for sure

- Auric Goldfinger or Max Zorin as far as best bad guy. Best henchman EVER: Jaws. :D

EDIT: Yes, I'm a James Bond geek. ;)

I don't think we would even still have Bond movies if it wasn't for Sean Connery..........

Lol what was he in? 1 movie?

Who was the guy from Casino Royale?

I think Connery has to be the best, but Brosnan is right there behind him.
George Lazenby was in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service"
James Bond in Casino Royale (one of my all time fav movies) was David Niven

Sean Connery.

Pierce Brosnan a close second. However the most recent Bond movies need to get back to more character driven plots and stop focusing on the high tech stuff and all the new gadgets and cars. Also some of the big action scenes could be cut. I mean, those things have a place in the Bond series but not to the extent they have been overused recently. Watch the old Connery movies and it was more about plot and acting.

Brosnan... I've never really watched any Bond films with the other actors, so I vote what I know. :)

hehehe, a bit late aren't you, most of the world thought that he should have been bond since the Remington Steele days.

Yeah...i remember saying that during his Remmington Steele days. BTW- he was supposed to play it back then, but couldn't get out of his contract. They had to settle for Timothy Dalton (*gag*)

what sucked was that the network killed the series the next season about half way thru. :(

bad bad timing. dalton was SUCK and it almost killed the bond franchise. brosnan is ROCK but Connery is BEST.

While Sean Connery is my favorite Bond, On Her Majesty's Secret Service (with George Lazenby) is my favorite Bond flick. Simply marvelous story line and a Bond movie of epic proportions. Just good all around flick.
