I'm trying to choice myself, running 1920x1200 id like to see ultra on those settings also. But is it really worth the extra hundred bucks for the 7870?

7850 or 7870.

If you can get the 7870 in the $329 area then its a pretty decent buy. They are both excellent cards.

No! all 7850 will reach as fast as 7870 since they are severely underclocked from factory. Why spend extra $100 for almost same? Buy 7850 and give $100 to homeless or go for a steak you'll feel better.

But the 7870 has 2x6pin connectors! It'll be twice as fast! /sarc

The 7870 is a nicer card, but it's not worth the extra money.

I'm probably going to grab a 7850, was going to get a 6870 but I think I'm going to wait it out for a deal.

Warranty wise, MSI or Gigabyte
Then Sapphire/Asus

XFX reviews have been inconsistent. One review (can't find it at the moment) reported strange results with their overclocking. Also the cooler is not working as well as one would expect from that unit. The MSI cooler works very well and seems more robust than the Sapphire unit (just from visual inspection). Also if length is a concern, then that will rule out both XFX and Asus.

I have the Sapphire 7850 OC and it OC'ed up to the CCC max on stock settings. I haven't played with it anymore since. I have no complaints about it other than a few AMD driver quirks. I haven't had much of an opportunity to really give it a workout.

I'm thinking about grabing a 7870 just because the price range is about right.. It is replacing the 6970 serious of old but with the gtx 670 coming soon the prices will drop and of course the gtx will win.. I gotta have the right card for arma 3 its going to drive me nuts running crappy fps (5770=25-30).. What a joke that is lol

Do you plan to overclock? If so, then the 7850 @ max OC is within 10% of the performance of the 7870 @ max OC. 10% more performance for 40% more money doesn't sound great.
