Even my normal fave Leadtek didn't do anything exciting with their design.

YIP, but you get half of the Yanks that think BFG are the best so buy as its a good old American brand (which was little heard of outside USA till 6800's), then you get other half of them that like ATI which is a Canadian firm, lol, i though you hated each other.

I will stick to Jap/TW hardware its best, like DFI mobos seem to be.

I haven't had any probs with my evga 6800, I might get a 7800 from them or BFG.

I'd recommend eVGA myself. I've owned two different eVGA cards (a 5900 and my current 6800GT). I'm probably going to take advantage of their trade-up program and move to the 7800GTX myself (just bought my 6800GT in May).

I'd get a Leadtek because my current card overclocks like a bitch. What I'd do is wait for Leadtek to release a card with a custom cooler on it.

if bfg stays at the same price, get that. or i'd get the evga, just personal. in fact i think i'll use the step up program and get one for 240.

I'd go BFG just because its factory OCed and has a lifetime warrenty.

Same here. Except I'm going with MSI. Their bundle is excellent and so are their custom coolers.

I have been thinking BFG, but the eVGA looks better (personal perference) and according to eVGA's website it is also OCed to 450, not BFGs 460 but still alot more than the stock 430.

And honestly, how much better is a lifetime warranty over a three year warranty. Is there anyone out there that is considering a $600 gaming video card that is upgrading their 3 year old 4200ti? ..... no. Three years is plenty, a lifetime warranty is a usless feature that looks good in theory, BFG knows know one is going to have a gaming video card for 6 years..... could you imagine HL2 on a Voodoo 5000 !!!!!

Thats a hard decision. For one you could always upgrade to the Ultra by paying the difference if it comes out within 3 months if you go eVGA.

However, I would say BFG's support and service is better.

The speed difference isn't that much. It looks like most companies are ocing their cards to 450 anyways, so I wouldn't even care about that.

Tough decision. I think in this instance I would probably go with eVGA with all the rumors of an Ultra version waiting in the wings.

I've had positive experiences with both BFG and eVGA. I opted for the eVGA this time around over the BFG for one main reason. I will most likley get a second one down the road and in the past BFG has opted to use their own coolers after the initial batch with the spec cooler. With a dual card rig I would prefer that the cooling solutions match on both cards. Then again, I might end up putting an NV Silencer or a Zalman cooler on the eVGA card(s), but that depends on the performance/noise level of the stock cooler.

They weren't very well known in the US before then either. Their first generation of cards was the FX series, which was not the best time to be a nVidia only company. They are a fairly new company that sprung up from the ashes of Visiontek. I still have a BFG FX 5900 running on my wife's machine that I got back in 2003, which is running great.
