After reading the article/review on 24" monitors, I'm wondering if the input lag mentioned on all of these monitors matters if you just play single-player games?
Seems you need to go with a TN monitor, and sacrifice color quality and viewing range, to get the least amount of lag, according to the article, if you're a (multi-player I'm thinking??) gamer.
I'm building a new system, and trying to figure out which type of 24" monitor to buy.
Here's the link for the summary/conclusion of anandtech's review of 5 top 24" LCD's, which was very interesting.
Any input appreciated.....

It's 2-3 frame lag, which in 60hz mode is 0.05 seconds at most. But if that really matters, get a P-MVA panel as MVA panels don't have lag. The cheapest one is the 6ms Soyo. The panel in the Soyo is made by BenQ, 2nd largest lcd monitor panel maker behind Samsung, so it's in a bunch of 24" LCDs.

You might also want to have a look at XBit Lab's recent roundup of 24 inch monitors:

Too bad they tested the Dell 2407WFP-HC, now discontinued. The most interesting comment is that 24-inch TN panels seem to be of higher quality than 22-inch TN panels. Coming from them, it is a surprising comment, as they have been historically harsh on TN panels in general.

I know next to nothing about LCD panels, but I don't think BenQ makes panels....they use the panels over other manufactures like AUO

EDIT: Apparently BenQ owns AUO

I thoght LG-PhillipsLCD would be closer to being second behind Samsung in LCD Panel production.

Yup, BenQ owns AUO so they use AUO MVA panels instead of Samsung PVA panels. I'm sure a little googling will turn up a good number of 24" MVA panels.
