HI

i am looking to buy a 19" flat or normal CRT moniter at the moment.

i don't know which brand, model, or type to get.

i am thinking about the Hitachi 19" monitor cm772 (0.22 hor dot pitch) which is AUD$830.

i really like the cm772b since it is black and it will match my black case, k/b and trackerball.

does anyone have any suggestions

BTW money does play a factor, i don't really want to spend any more than AUD$1000 (Australian dollars). that works out to be ~USD$500 at present exchange rates and assuming that moniters cost the same here as they do there.

Hi

The Samsung 900 model range of monitors are very nice.
You can get them for around $850 to $900AUD.
Dansdata did a review on two 900 series monitors:

Have you though about buying an used or reconditioned 21" monitor? That's what I did and I got me a 21" Viewsonic P810 that originally went for $1,600 US for $400 Canadian ($253.16 US). This could be a good option for you, especially if your a gamer.

KDS Avitron 19" for around 600-650 Cdn. .24 dotpitch with a trinitron tube aperture grille. Great flatscreen with glare reduction coating and sharp image quality for both desktop and gaming. 1024 x 768 @85hz.
