Hey guys im looking to get a new video card basically for tv out to play divx on tv. Its a p2 333 w/ tnt2 right now. All these cards are about the same price..which one should i get?
also if any1 has a used one fs/ft please pm. thanks guys.

Ati Radeon 8500LE $80
All in wonder Radeon 7500 $70 (used from my friend)
MSI Geforce3 Ti200 64mb $77
Geforce4 Mx $60
Radeon 9000 64mb by sapphiretech

Well, the RADEON 8500LE is the best performer of the bunch, with the GeForce3-Ti200 a distant second. But, with any of those cards you are gonna be seriously hampered by your CPU.

I'd vote for the AIW R7500... your certainly not going to be playing many games with a PII 333MHz, and all of the boards should perform near identically in that system anyways as you'll be processor limited.
With the R7500 AIW, you'll gain a ton of multimedia features, reasonably good 2D quality and a steallr DVD playback implementation.
Most noticeably the 8500LE/and R7500 will offer the best TV-Out of any of the boards you listed... and you stated TV-Out is the primary reason for a new board so it makes sense to go with the one with the best TV-Out implementation.

I'll echo Rand. (Rand.)

If you get all the parts with the AIW 7500, you should get a remote. Very handy.

For that system I'd go with the 7500 aiw. However if you plan on upgrading your MB+CPU+RAM anytime soon I'd go with the 8500LE as it will preforme much better in a newer system.

Since I assume you have access to your friends 7500, why not ask if you can pop it in your setup and see if it suits your needs or not. The 7500AIW seems to be the best choice but with that cpu you might wanna try if it's even a viable solution or just a waste.

Yep, I think it will be a wate in there - I had a P1 233 which would crash playing DVD's (with a decoder card), let alone divx. I think you should have at least 400 MHz for divx out playback unless you want a lot of dropped frames and/or choppy playback.

And 64 or more ram would good also. I think watching films takes a decent amount of ram... Or is only video editing....

Thanks for you suggestions guys...its a p2 333 w/ 384 mb ram, it runs divx on burned cds fine on a monitor...will i see any drop frames w/ a svhs out? Where do i find a 8500 w/ 128 mb? all i see is the ati one w/ 64mb.

If it's a P2 333, then that means it's a slot-1 motherboard, and it has a 66 MHz FSB (which is good becase that is very upgradeable). You can easily upgrade it to a celeron 433-533 for like $30 bucks or so (if the celeron is FC-PGA, then just get a $5 slotket adaptor). A 400-500 MHz celeron would be perfect for that machine, and the 384 MB SDRAM is way more than adequate! Don't bother getting an 8500 for that machine - you won't see any difference between that and a 7500, which is cheaper. Actually, you will - I have read that the 7500 has the best SVIDEO-out quality of the bunch, even better than the 8500. So the 7500 will actually look better on your tv!

Good luck!

The Radeon 8500 LE is definitely the best card from that lineup, especially for gaming.

On a p2 333mhz? I don't think it will help his fps in solitaire or whatever game is still playable on that.

On a p2 333mhz?
It doesn't make sense to buy something crappy now because he'll only have to upgrade again when he gets a new CPU. For now he can enjoy the extra features of the card and later on the Radeon will scale nicely when he upgrades his system.
