Whey protein

I enjoy a brand of whey protein that provides 23 grams of proteins, 3 grams of carbs, and 20 calories from fat... but have a question or two.

I understand that whey protein is used to help muscle development, but was curious where those 20 calories from fat come into the picture. Why are they there? Do they serve a purpose?

It's more expensive to remove all the fat from whey protein and it's more difficult to make it taste good. Your body needs dietary fats to be able to produce hormones like testosterone. No-fat and low-fat diets screw with your endocrine system's ability to function correctly.

It's almost impossible to make a 100% protein formula. It would be way too expensive to purify it any further. There are always trace elements that remain.

Most people prefer that their whey protein taste good, although you can buy unflavored whey protein. To make something taste good, you generally have to add fat and/or sugar.

I don't understand why people keep buying that GNC crap. It's completely overpriced. Most protein powders anyway are on avg 20gm of protein per scoop...so it's not like there's anything "special" about theirs.
With a GNC gold card at the right part of the month, GNC's prices WERE comporable to others with the buy one-get one at 50% off, but now that they've stopped that, the last time I entered the place I left in disgust (which is a common sense when one gets into GNC, their prices are EGREGIOUS). My last order of whey was from DPSNutrition. It came quickly and that big 10lb tub of chocholate they have tastes the best of any protein I've ever tried. I will only go to them in the future. GNC can rot in hell, imo.

I'm not a protein expert, but I'll throw out some info that I've heard anyway. People say that it's not possible to process that much protein that fast. If you have a 60g drink you should probably take about an hour to drink it. If you chug it down you'll only be able to use about 25g of it, and the rest will either turn to fat or pass through your system unused.

Edit:
If somebody knows differently, feel free to correct me. Like I said, this is just what someone told me.

Also, this time may be different if you mix it with caesin protein. That is supposed digest slower, but more completely than whey.
