Where's your microwave?

Something I've noticed that a lot of people do differently is where they place their microwave. My microwave has always been in my kitchen, but at some other people's homes they have them in the dining room near the table.

My kitchen and dining room are the same room.
Therefore the microwave is in both at the same time.

Suck it, quantum physics.

I've never seen a microwave in a dining room.

mine's in my kitchen next to my fridge. I've got two main counter spaces, one where I keep small appliances like the microwave and my mix master and the other I keep clear for prepping food.

Yes, but when you observe the room it is forced to take the form of the dining room or the form of a kitchen!

Schrodinger's Kitchen? 😕

Next to all my servers.

j/k

Ours is mounted under some cuboards in the kitchen, but the dining room is like RIGHT beside, no dividing wall or anything, so to be technical it's in between kitchen and dining room. It's built right in the cuboards. You can't buy them that way anymore, so if it breaks we're screwed. It's about as old as I am. Good ol Panasonic, their stuff lasts well. I remember as a kid I had these panasonic rechargable batteries. I bet if I came accross some of those today I could still charge them and they'd still work. They were awesome. The electrical experiments those went through... wow.

Schrodinger's Kitchen? 😕

and just by looking at it, you are changing what it appears to be, thereby forever screwing up your perception!

The best part is, the dining room/kitchen table is only a cluttered mess when I look at it.

So what is it when you are not looking at it?

kitchen, over the stove

This.

If I ever feel a wave of ambition overcome me I'll vent the integrated fan to the outside of the house rather than just filtering the cooking fumes back into the house. It's on an outside wall so it should not be too big of a job.

Actually ours is that way too, forgot to mention, it has a vent built into the microwave on the bottom, so I can vent the stove. I also turn it on when I make a nacho as it stinks up the whole house. 😀 Mmmm nachos.

Perfectly tidy and clean - a vacuum, with respect to junk.
