Nope, they jumped right in and positioned themselves between bush's butt-cheeks the whole time.
NOONE had the liberals back and none have yet to back us up.
If we even want anything vaugely balanced -it's foriegn news.

Showing a 30 second blurb of a "left" issus that is obviously geared to discredit the cause does not make them
a liberal media source

That's because the news is not supposed to take stances on issues, you dumbass. They're supposed to report what happens, not make it up.

Still, that doesn't stop them from subtle bias, which they pull off by selecting some stories and not others, and putting a slant to everything they show.

Before the Iraq War, the media went out of its way to portray how wonderful things were in Saddam Hussein's Iraq. Dan Rather went to Bagdadh and had a puff piece interview with Saddam Hussein. That's about the most he can do. And right after the invasion, CNN complained about some pottery that was broken in a museum in Baghdad. That was their way of being negative about the war.

Compare that to CLinton's strike on the former Yugoslavia. That was always portrayed in a very positive way, because it was unfashionable to oppose Clinton wars.

None of the "slanted" issues are valid left issues. Just reactionary fluff to enforce stereotypes or further the rights corprate agenda with smoke and mirrors. This is why I stated NO US tv almost 100% anymore is valid source of news IMO. This goes for the rest of the media too.
For about 10 years now same old crap misrepresenting the left while being total whores... Sorry your just catching on.

CNN is getting raped in the ratings. That's something I think even the liberals will concede. I wonder if they'll be around 5 years from now? They've already shut down one of their spin off channels in the past few months.

CNN just came off it's most prifitable year ever, and they have more total viewers than fox.

They also have far more total outlets as well. Fox hammers cnn in primetime however.

Almost every story on CNN has a anti-Republican/anti-conservative angle to it. They were recently running stories about the cost of Bush's innauguration. Did they ever complain about Clinton's innaguration costs? Every anchor on CNN moans about Bush having no mandate to govern. But Clinton never got a majority of the vote in 1992 or 1994. Did he have a mandate? Did CNN even bring up that issue? On Bush's proposed social security reform, every news piece on CNN has a totally negative angle. Of course, maybe left-wingers will say that CNN is trying to "show the other side" of the story. But did they ever show the other side of any piece of legislation that Clinton proposed? It was all puff pieces, IIRC.

A good website to go to is www.mediaresearch.org . They catalog daily instances of media bias.

Can you give specifics? Like actual quotes?

You are just trying to take his post into the swamp of detail. Looked like he gave some pretty good examples to me.

Correct! Even handiness is seen by many of our liberal collegues as being biased. Unbiased reporting would be credited only if the lean to the left is so bad that the pegs draw sparks on a corner!

Who care's? It's wishful thinking that CNN will be closing down shop when they're as strong as they are both in the U.S. and worldwide.

its quite the opposite the mainstream media is centrist. and anything left of the right is err.. "leftist" by the right wing fanatics. right wing media is just sad, ever crying about the "left wing bias", yet goes off the deep end with extreme bias with its own media.

nah dude, the thing is, fox has liberals on in namesake only. they always add conservative twists to stories as opposed to just reporting the news and letting us make up our minds

you can see it so evident in the way they analyzed bush after the debates. they said he did a great job, when later every news outlet was saying the president was pretty lackluster, after the public sentiment was known that is
