Gag! Mental torment is right, that's going to mess up a child. An interesting read, though some of the Oprah interview is pretty lame.

The final straw for Louree came when she was 14 years old. "I asked what we were having for dinner, and my mom said chicken. During that meal, she and Brian were not touching their plates really, but they were kind of picking at a salad that they had, and she had a smile on her face the whole time," she says. "[The next day], I went to go feed my rabbit and the cage was empty, and I said, 'What happened to Peaches?' And she said, 'You had her for dinner last night.'" Louree says she moved out after that incident to escape the "mental torment."

It makes us puke because something similar happened to all of us. We have all been put down at an age when we had no mental defense and we all believed we were worthless. Those kids at the least know they were damaged because the damage was so extensive and deep. They know why they loathe themselves and even though knowing it is insufficient to eliminating that feeling, reliving and grief are required, they at least know intellectually their treatment was sick and not something they deserved to get.

I am reading a book right now on psychiatry that covers child rearing, culture, and mental helath and will post back here as soon as I become a real world authority on the subject in the next couple of days. But then again, maybe I won't because at the moment I can't think of a way to distinguish my real authority from all the idiotic thoughts posted here.

Congratulate whomever it was you stole that comeback from because it is brilliant. Too bad that you are too stupid to know when to apply it though.

One can learn theories of psychiatry, culture, and mental health from books and, like you, not know a thing about yourself while the most ignorant peasant may achieve the station of saint.

You are a vane little bastard who has been insulted by reflection from me and your childish aim it to get back at me. Hehehehehe You actually imagine you can make somebody who knows his own self hate from the inside out be bothered by a dust mite like you? Ahahahahaha A man who was destroyed by a hammer pays little mind to a prick.

Do yourself a favor and try to develop yourself. You feel like the worst in the world and you are quite mentally sick. Trust me, hehehehehe, there's not a thing wrong with you and you can heal. I am as far beyond you as you are beyond an amoeba, but you can catch up and far surpass me. Remember, you have been forgiven.

Yes, he is a bright fellow. That brightness however does not shine past his little bubble world. You see, I can use whatever comebacks I like, when I like. For I am like God, and God like me. I am as big as God and God is as small as I am, he is neither above me nor I beneath him be. (the little I amoeba/evolution reference just doesn't have the same kick... once you get so far above an amoeba there is no where else to go).

Everyone else who does not agree with me is a puss sack.

Poor Peaches. His story of hate and shame has been overshadowed (sorry this would have been funner in off topic).

Good good good. The road to recovery begins by getting it all out. This was a tiny step in that direction. You'll be very surprised, however, to discover how much more there is in there.
