Calvin and Hobbes and The Far Side were, and continute to be, the only comics worth reading anymore.

I'd pretty much agree with that, although the older Bloom County's were pretty good, along with Dilbert.

Seconded 🙂

If you walk into my bathroom, you'll see a basket of reading material
It's nothing more than a pile of Calvin and Hobbes, Far Side, and Dilbert books.
btw, ebay is a great place to get collections of used books for a cheap price. Rather than the 9.95 per copy or whatever it is, I was buying them in lots of 4 or 5 at a time for about the cost of one book. (of course, I ended up with a few repeats, but that doesn't bother me 🙂 )

Yep, C&H rocks - while I'm as sorry as any to see it go, I applaud Bill Waterson's personal convictions and lack of attention whoring. My paper is doing the re-run, but it's not the same the 2nd time around (or nth time considering how many times I've read the collections 😀 ).

Moving on - I think Frazz ( http://www.comics.com/comics/frazz/ ) is about the best thing going right now. I occasionally see shades of Calvin & Hobbes there - like this one: http://www.comics.com/comics/frazz/archive/frazz-20051016.html
