Where's a good place in the US to live?

The gf and I have decided that its time to pack up and likely leave the Portlandland area. We've saved up basically no change and we're looking to relocate some where that the cost of living is not as expensive. More than likely we may move somewhere among the northwestern states where it's cool nearly all year around, but we have considered maybe looking further north in Canada (Vancouver, Victoria, etc..) . Neither of us currently have jobs so we plan on looking for a reasonably priced ghetto apartment and either working part time for a couple of years or trying to live off our drug/prostitution ring earnings so for the first couple of years we'll really be interested in finding some apartments next to a nice area where the homes are moderately priced.

Anyone have some suggestions?

I recommend Portland, Oregon or further north...like maybe Vancouver. Those are your best bets.

...and say hello to $6k electrical bills, since you have to run an air conditioner 24/7.

I avoid living anywhere that drops below 20 or climbs above 100.
