Southern Arkansas is awesome - 2 hours from the nearest interstate, no traffic jams, you can buy a nice house for 40 grand, and rent is 300 bucks a month for a decent 2 bedroom . . .

I live in Lousiana for over 20 years and can't wait to get out. The only good thing about this place is low cost of living. The bad: hot and humid in summer, dumb rednecks, corrupt politicians, bad roads and horrible drivers.

I am saving money now to move out. Probably to Texas or Florida.

Maybe Richmond, VA or Raleigh, NC - neither are terribly expensive, and the climate is very mild when you're comparing it to chicago.

Looking for year around warm weather,
Well that excludes the entire north half of the country

low cost of living,
and that eliminates all coastal and urban areas.

FYI I have lived in B F Alabama and enjoyed it very much. The only problem we have there to keeping the Da$m Yankees out. You know them they come to visit and never leave.

South coastal texas...OIL, industry, fishing, and very low cost of living.

Ca and Fla are very expensive...relative.

You can't group Cali and Fla together. I live in Fl and just bought a brand new home for $120k, not tiny either, in cali its like $300k+.

Indianapolis has got to be about the cheapest place for middle class folks to work and live and still have all the amenities of a large metro area at your finger tips

less wind and more moderate climate than Chicago, but you still get a tast of four seasons
