Cool. Under "firebases and LZ's" I found three that I was at, A3, A4 (Con Thien) and Cua Viet.

Brings back memories of good times when I was blowing the crap out of things.

OMG, Ted Williams, Bob Feller, and many more were in the middle of fantastic careers, sorry but your education should not come before your obligation to your country, there should not be any reason other than medical, mental or religious that one should not be compelled to serve, even those cases could be assigned non-combat duties.

288, but I'm going to college next year, so I'd get out of it that way.

College students are now given the option to defer to the end of the current semester or serve immediately. Just going to school won't get you out of anything unless it is a very short conflict.

Didn't anyone read the information when they were registering for the draft?

I'm 249, btw

20

but I'm not from the US so it is OK

btw: until a couple of years ago there was mandatory military service here so there was no escaping from it. When you were 18, male and healthy you had to serve for 12 months.
The last guys that had to go in the military were born in 1975 and I'm from 1976 so I was lucky.

They are talking about reinstating the mandatory military service
