Where would you apply

When Goodyear shuts down the Plant I work at, I am gonna need a job fast.
I am probably going to apply at the best restaurants in town first, then best retail, then sh!tty restaurants, then sh!tty retail stores.
Last thing will be fast food.
But the best paying will be the restaurants. But I hate being around people and social interactions.

Temp agency.

Would that be fast? Within like, the same day fast?
I have walked into places and been hired on the spot. Thats what I am talking about.
But I will request to speak with a manager.

Since I'm in IT, I would apply through a headhunter for jobs in the Raleigh/Durham NC area (RTP). They are always desperate for IT guys there.

BTW - I know this from experience. A company where I was employed went bankrupt, so I basically had to get a job overnight. I applied through a headhunter and had a high paying position in less than a week.

Why wait until the plant is closed? You could start now, and have plenty of time for a better employer to do background checks/whatever. You'll make better money with an entry level job at a bank, post office, etc.

Honestly, I would try to get a job at a decent, preferable table cloth resturaunt. On a good night, you can average $20+ per hour. It can be stressfull though. I did it for 1.5 years, and I make good money, but I would never go back to waiting tables unless I had a family to feed and that was my only option.

I would try retail.
