Be sure and get the "Victor" brand metal and wood traps

Yep, those are the ones. :)

Yep that's what we used, they were cheap and worked. Just put a little dab of peanut butter and a few hours later SNAP!

I never had much luck with peanut butter. Maybe my rats were smarter, but they were always able to nibble off the PB without setting off the trap. I got my best results with cheese cubes. They are just the right size to place on the metal hook, and they stay on with enough force that when the rats tug at them, it's bye-bye rodent. :)

That's awesome and creative. We never had problems with peanut butter since the Victor spring traps were very very prone to snapping.

Ok, got 2 2pks at HD for $1 each. I am seriously starting to doubt my mental capacity though at this point. Ive got the damn thing out and I fiddled with it for about a minute and I cannot see how to set it. The instructions are 3 step with little info for mouse killing novices.

How does the bar attach to the bait "paddle"?

EDIT: Found a more advanced instruction set online!

Those mice are probably watching you and laughing their heads off. This retard can't set the damn trap then puts bread on it?

You don't think the bread will do it eh? Should I reset it with something else? I don't think I have any cheese.

Do you have PB, you could try that.

Ok, I go and check out the trap and the bread is gone but the trap didn't get released. Looks like I'll have to get some cheese or PB.

Well, I "caught" 1 mouse....the trap didn't work to well. The trap eventually killed the mouse but did not actually trap it. The mouse, bleeding, decided to take a couple laps around the white carpet. Scrubing blood out of carpet at 2 in the morning is always fun.

Next time you should also lace the bait with poison, if it excapes it still dies.

a good poison to use is borric acid. mix equal amounts of pb and boric acid. the mouse will die when it eats the pb.

He didn't escape...must have had some brain damage. I went out into the hall after I heard the trap go. There was an oval shaped ring of blood, about 17-18 different spots, and he was just chilling in the middle of it. The trap was off to the side...that flipped over so I had to clean PB off the carpet too. Just an all around sh!tty experience.
