Pre-ordered mine at my local EB near where I work. Paid in full, $58.** after tax. That's too damn much for a game, so it better be good.

No, local stores (Florida) said they're getting them early, July 30th and they'll be available either Saturday or Monday.

I don't see why all 3 stores would in some grand, and incredibly stupid, conspiracy. If it is available, I'll try a walk-in and report back. :p

I won't buy until I hear guy's opinions about Doom 3 then I will buy it at local EB store. Most of my games are from EB...

They may be, but I got the same line from the manager at the local Gamestop (SC). He said that the computer said the shipment was coming in on Friday. He says he even doubted that, but he was sure he would have it available by Monday. If so...then great...I get the game a day early. If not...well I'll just end up getting it on Tuesday...which will be fine. The local Best Buy said they would not have it on the shelves until the 4th.

Just spoke to 2 reps from the same two Gamestops around here. The date apparently changed back to the 4th, but they said that the game is shipping from the warehouse today. Computer glitch my eye... :p :beer:

I should have my doom3 tonight when our truck arrives at work. With my staff discount, works out to around $50 CAN from $70.

I pre-ordered Doom III from my local GameStop (3 min from home) on Friday. Went there Saturday to ask about the July 31st rumor and the guy laughed. He did however say that someone would be picking up the game from the Airport Monday (today) and that the game would be avaliable after 7pm. Off work at 5pm so it works out great.

Circuit City. $45, lowest price I've seen. Also they will have a coupon in PC Gamer for $10 off any $10+ game this upcoming mag.... so Ill try going back and adding that to take it down to $35.

Just got a call from Gamestop (Pembroke Pines, FL) about my pre-order. They originally said they would be getting them in this afternoon, now they say they'll get it first thing tomorrow mornining. Lying bastards.... :p I'm just going to cancel the pre-order and walk in to BB and buy it Wednesday, then price match later on to Circuit City's price.

Every EB I've spoken too, has said preordered copies wouldn't be distributed until 7:00pm on Tuesday, not tonight. They did tell me though that without preorder, I could still come in on Wednesday morning and pick up a copy for $49.00.

Based on some of the disappointing reviews I'm reading, I'm just holding out until Friday so I can pick it up for $44.99 from Circuit City.

dumbasses here in asheville NC will not receive/sell until tomorrow even though i did pre-order through ebgames and it is widely available everywhere else except NC. I cancelled my order today and will pick it up at BB and PM to CC on friday.

whyinthehell do we here on the eastern side get everything a week behind

are they still doing the 10% refund for the difference? The BB clerk said 'no'.

Anyway, that's what i did (Beast Buy was the ONLY local retailer that had it today for me) and i will PM to CC next week for a refund.

Maybe I'm having a bad day (I am unemployed and haven't used my brain in quite some time), but I'm not seeing how $43.03 was arrived at. The price difference is $10. 10% of $10 is $1. So my math tells me that the price matched $44.99 minus the $1 equals $43.99. Please correct me if I am wrong.
