Just be careful on websites...they can be a PITA to deal with on warranty issues.

anyone know if best buy will properly apply the sprint one year premiere member upgrade? last time I tried to buy a phone there from verizon, the couldn't do my early upgrade pricing (20 months or whatever it was)

If you're doing anything but a straight renewal or new contract, they probably can't do it. If you have something special on your account (Premiere, SERO, EPRP, etc) it might be a lot of work.

Their is nothing special about Premier. All BB goes by is what Sprint sets your renewal date is. As long as the renewal date is available you are good to go. It is correct BB cannot do SERO or EPRP, that is Sprint policy but occasionally you will find a store that will, and they will have the rebate denied when they submit it for violating policy so you can see why most won't do it.

Sprint can handle your Premiere thing. You don't even have to mention the word... just have them look at your account and it will show that you are eligible for the full renewal amount.
