Inquirer Roadmaps from December 11th show that the 2nd Quarter will bring a 3.2 GHz Pentium4 with an 800 MHz bus, 3rd Quarter a 3.2+ GHz Pentium 4 with an 800 MHz bus, and the 4th quarter of next year will bring 3.4+ GHz Pentium 4 with an 800 MHz bus. That would mean that either Intel is projecting very little growth for next year, or the Pentium 4 is running out of steam, or Intel is keeping their real projections under wraps. I vote for the last case. No sense telling AMD what you are projecting to do. If you remember, the 3 GHz CPU was set to be released in 2003, not 2002 like it was. Also, Intel was going with a 667 MHz bus for 2003, then upped it to 800 MHz. Intel is keeping its cards close to its chest. Personally I think we will see a 4 GHz CPU by the end of next year.
