In class, it was some home room or advisory period, I hardly remember what they called it. Basically, we goofed off and had announcements for half an hour at the start of every day. The school had the TVs rigged to come on whenever they wanted, so they could turn on Channel 1 all at once, and they turned it on to the news. I was one of the first to notice what was happening, and I knew something was very bad, but I really had no idea what the WTC was, or why it was so important, only that it was in NYC and had been mentioned here and there in my "educational career." Anyway, one by one the kids in the room looked at the TV and just stared. The second plane hit while I was walking to another class, so I didn't see that, but I still remember what I did see. But, by the end of the day I was already tired of it, the news hadn't said anything new or useful in hours, it was the same endless repeating of footage and less than enlightening commentary.
