Code 10 is a hardware error indicating that the MB is gettting no signal from the card. Even though the drivers are installed and the OS can see it.

My next suggestion would be to install the PCI first, get it running then add the AGP card.

Also make sure the PCI video card is in the first PCI slot (usually closest to the AGP slot, and farthest from the edge of the m-board.)

i know it's a little bit of work...but i should hope we can get this up and running

i used to run THREE monitors for pete's sake!

ok, this is strange, i put my cirrus logic as my primary display adapter, AND IT WORKS!!!!!, but when i put the primary as AGP, it has the same problem. o well, i guess i can live with this until i get my radeon 8500. but that's gonna be quite a while since i didnt even order it yet.

I don't know how I missed this thread. :)

Hey, some cars absolutely must be primary *in BIOS* in order to work in a multi-display configuration. Thankfully, Win2K (and XP, I presume) can change which device is the primary display on-the-fly. So, if you wat the GF2 as primary, just set the checkbok on the display properties tab for it (the one with the two screens, select the GF2-driven screen).

Additionally, I think one of the websites was www.realtimesoft.com. They wrote some utility that aids multi-head setups. The also maintain a databse of working configs.

I've been running triple displays with a pair of Matrox cards, all I can say is that it worked exactly as advertized: plug the card in, install drivers, read messages on bootup, setup in the display settings.

For changing the resolutions easily, use Multires (do a search for it)

<< btw..if you go to play games, they will only play on ONE monitor, not on both :) >>

(raises hand)Ooh, ooh! I got a question!

About playing video games, what happens to the second monitor when you start a game? Does it just black out, or can I see the desktop? It'd be cool to be able to Instant messenger or read my mail while I'm playing a game. Is this possible?

yep, you can still see the second screen (and all your instant messages)

BUT, you (obviously) can't respond to them because you're using the keyboard In-game

but otherwise, you'll be able to see everything going on in real-time

I'm not a die-hard gamer, by MS Motocross Madness (2, I think) blanks the second screen when I'm playing. I would think, however, that most games just leave the second screen alone.

BTW, I have an nVidia GF2MX card with TwinView for dual display functionality.

<< ok, first off, is it possible to have dual display with an elsa gladiac geforce 2 gts as the primary, and a voodoo 2 pci? and im running win2k >>

Voodoo 2? I thought the voodoo2 was just a 3D accelerator (no 2D support) - hense the pass-through connector.

I have it working with a GeForce 2 GTS (AGP) & Voodoo 3 (PCI) however.
