~~Where to take the Wife on a 10 year Anniversary?~~

EXman

Lifer
I have to take my beautiful wife on a week long Hawaii trip as this our 10 year anniversary! Anniversay is Aug 1 and I am trying to do this nice and early to well organized trip that also does not break the bank! Tickets to Kauai (LIH airport) are $1005/each from CVG (Cincy) on Expedia and a few other sites. Totals to Kauai are about $3200 for both of us at a decent place to stay. Traveling on 7-27 to 8-2. $3200 is a Budget breaker $2300-2700 seems to be around my max Budget.

Anyone know of a much better deal to Hawaii? We're in Central Kentucky Lexington, Louisville, Northern KY (Cincinnati) airports are close.

Should we go to somewhere else?

I want to escape the rat race enjoy the beach cook my wife a good meal.

I'd like to go somewhere romantic non touristy warm with a nice beach preffer U.S. destinations for security and no passport reasons. But it isn't a deal killer if it is outside the US. NO JAMAICA! weeders and naked fat eurotrash no thanks

If you'd like to help a guy out trying to make it look like I'm going all out for the wife but still on a budget you can post here or contact me at cmamREMOVEmen@gmail.com

MUST HAVES:

  • Beach close <-- Hot wifey need to see the bikini in action 32 not getting younger
    Tropical setting
Has to be during the summer June10-Aug 10. Kids are out of school I am a little flexible but need to arrange child care well in advance.
    Hiking availible nearby
Non touristy no densely populated areas
Romantic / Adult oriented not a family resort<-- for her don't
    HOT DEAL not CHEAP
    QUIET
    CLEAN
Security no local teenagers throwing a kegger next door putting the wife out of the mood!
    Palm trees
    Nice respectful locals
    snorkeling nearby be nice
kitchen would be a big plus might have to be more of a condo I suppose

Things we don't need

  • Fine dining
    Airbrushed t-shirts
    souveniers
    wild night life
locals trying to sell you weed every 20 minutes (Honey moon to Negril jamiaca 20minutes no kidding.)
    view of a parking lot
view of 20 other hotels nearby
place with bad water. ( No hospital visits)
Naked fat eurotrash. No speedos on big hairy europeans! However a Swedish or Czech girls spring break is OK!

Thanks in advance!

wow where's the travelers here?

Man we just got hit by 60 mph winds my BBQer just went for a ride... Tornado Sirens went off satellite went down and had a brownout. have not seen a brownout in awhile...

Take a cruise around the Greek islands. I went there with 50 classmates following my high school graduation and we had a blast.

Puerto Rico?

To be honest if you want a low-cost vacation in the US with all the package trip amenities and nice beaches, but without a lot of other tourists, you're kind of out of luck.

That's going to be tough. Prices are cheap when you go to touristy places. Price skyrocket once you get off the beaten path. You could try the North side of St. Thomas. The Turks might fit your budget as well, but the hiking is a little limited. It's a beautiful island chain, but they are fairly flat.

The jewelry store of course. For being married 10 years, not knowing that is pretty noobish! 😛

i'm eurotrash so I can not help

I hope you end up in a hotel surrounded by fat naked eurotrash in speedos all day who try to sell you weed every 20 minutes while you are admiring the view of the parking lot

Is this just a really expensive way to do it with your wife? 🙂

J/K - Head off to Jamaica, Dunns River. My wife and I went to Ocho's Rios, however spent most of our time and Dunns (ten minutes away).

My wife and I did our honeymoon in Maui and Kauai. We enjoyed Maui much more, but if you're looking for quiet and nature/hiking etc, Kauai is nice... but we found there was little for us to do compared to Maui.... but again, we're not nature lovers like it sounds like you are.

We stayed in the Poipu Beach area.... not sure if you can do a week there for $3200 though. Have you tried talking to a local travel agent??

Well I have found a cheap studio for $509 in Princeville Kauai the Beverly hills of Kauai. lil too much parking lot for me but many of the real good beaches we'll have to drive to anyways. I did find a car for $18 a day.

Puerto Rico has possibilities...

I'd hope you'd chime in as you all are the travellers. 🙂 You all don't usually do it on the cheap though. I'll look into those islands. Yea I see that honolulu is way cheaper to fly to. I like the off the beaten path places. Napali coast cruise snorkeling might be some adventure though. Go see where King Kong did his thing.

🙂

She is a low maint woman! Beautiful women don't need bling to shine. She got on me one year because I did go shopping there.

I'd like to hear a little more on this topic also. The SO and I are trying to plan to goto hawaii next year. We wanted to do it this year for her 30th but b/c school, etc we are going to wait until next year. We've looked around a bit, want to do 7-10 days TOTAL, from florida. We've looked a NCL cruises alot, but i'm just worried we wont get enough shore time and feel "rushed". On the other hand, if we stay on shore, we'd like to visit 2-3 of the islands, and planning hotels/plane trips is just a pain. Not sure what to do.

If you are only getting offered weed in Jamaica every 20 minutes, you must look like a cop.

It is usually more like every 3 minutes.

The problem with Hawaii is that nothing is cheap. It's hard to find a decent meal for under $30pp, even a trip to a place like Bubba Gumps will run up to $80 for two people.

I say again; Bali. You can stay in a villa with a private swimming pool for maybe $30 a night, eat steak and lobster all day while getting massaged for $10 a day, drink a 48 pack of beer for $5. High class night clubs, where locals aren't allowed in, no college students really because they have yet to discover it...etc etc

Come on, you know the rules. Before I can give any advice pertaining to your situation, you have to post pics of your wife. Anytime someone says they have a hot wife, it's 'pics or shens', and no assistance. 😛
