Subway + Uber

That is why we're trying for around Central Park. Most things appear to be within walking distance, but will need a ride for some. I somehow figured out the train in Munich during several drunken days in Oktoberfest 2 years ago, this time it will be in English and I shouldn't be as drunk. So I'm hopeful.

Personally, I'd stay in the Times Square area. That place is always active.

When I go, we usually see a musical at night. So its easier to just get out of the musical, grab a snack and hit the hotel. All in walking distance.

Take a cab or subway during the day to where you want to go.

Eh, I hopped the subway back from Harlem to midtown at 5AM when I was there last week, after a long night at the bars by Columbia U. It was just me and my female roommate. I think the threat of danger in NYC is overblown. The subway at night is fine.

My understanding is that in 20_ years ago there were issues. They have been resolved.

Pitch a tent in Central Park man! That would be so cool. Actually, there is a bunker beneath the park. Go there. :D

Farthest east I've been was Chicago. I was born in Arlington Heights after all. I've seen NY via Google street view and Grand Theft Auto V. LOL

I was joking about the tent thing. I couldn't imagine. LMAO

I know you were joking but they do offer some camp out in Central Park program. You can't just go in a whim.
