We did DC last year for the 4th. We are going to Boston, New York, Denver and New Orleans at other times this year so I am looking for other potential options. Anyone have any good ideas?

Boston for the 4th would be my choice. They put on one hell of a show.

:hmm: Well maybe. My wife is getting back from there on the 1st so I was thinking it was a bit weird to go right back but maybe not

If you're not 100% set on the 4th, and you really just want awesome fireworks -- I would recommend checking out the Aquatennial celebration in Minneapolis. It's one of the biggest and most expensive fireworks shows in the country and it happens in the middle/end of July. The 2014 date was July 26th, I don't believe 2015 has been announced but I think the fireworks would be July 25th.

Plenty to do in Minneapolis as well -- catch a Twins game at Target Field, sketch comedy at Brave New Workshop (oldest improv theater in the country, highly recommended), lots of other theater, plenty of parks, Mall of America (including indoor amusement park if you have kids, plus, Legoland), and don't forget a Juicy Lucy.

Interesting...we may do that although we'll still likely go someplace for the 4th

PRO TIP: DON'T go to London for the 4th of July. It's NOT a holiday there.

We were in England over the 4th 2 years ago. Not London but no one really seemed to care one way or the other

Have you been to Acadia and Bar Harbor, ME? We've gone twice at that time of year and it's beautiful. The fireworks are over the harbor and aren't very impressive, but it's a small town and they have a cute parade. The real attraction is Acadia National Park. Oh, and the fresh Maine lobster, of course.
