So what section should they go in? I have them in "education" right now, but I'm wondering if they'd be more appropriate in another section like "skills" or "experience". Any comments? This is for a soon-to-be CSCI college grad, BTW.

If you have just one certification, I would continue to list it under "Education" but once you get a few certifications under your belt, you might consider adding a separate "Certifications" section.

I would avoid putting them in education and add them to skills or a certification section. It looks like people are trying to pad "education" when there are a lot of non-degree items (inlcuding summer programs and the like, unless it is substantial). Also, if you have a variety of certs, make sure you only put relevant ones down and make sure they are current! :) If your certification is really major and required for the job, note it in your cover letter to highlight it.

For certifications that are education-related, you can put them under education. If you decide to keep them under "Education," try to make them more visible. I do a lot of recruitment myself, and when we go through a few dozen resumes, it's easy to miss those highlights.

I have a "Education and Professional Certification" section. It all goes in there. The most important two certs goe after my name at the very top. I want them to notice it immediately.

I have mine in one called "Certifications" and I have also read other places that you should do that. I also have my future certifications that i'm going for in with "Objectives".

Depends on the job. If it is a cert that is tied to that job then list it under education area AND also in the top of KSA (Knowledge/Skills/Ability) area. If it is not tied to that job or has little value then do not hype it up and ONLY put it in the education area.
