What are your thoughts on where to purchase a big screen TV online?
If the delivery charge is reasonable, the tax savings would be huge.

Any thoughts on where to buy and just for the heck of it...what brand of HDTV?
Say something in a 50"???

Opinions? Anyone?? Anyone?? or experiences??

Thanks!

You can buy big screens online lots of places such as 800.com. However I'd buy local from a small shop with good service. Then anytime the TV needs cleaning, acting up, needs adjustment, they send someone out. Small shops are so cool.

I would highly recommend 800.com and you can save up to 20% off on large screen TVs (32-inches and larger).

I'd hurry and buy soon though, not sure when this promo ends.

Thanks for your input guys.

I checked the local shops and the prices are a few hundred dollars more than say a Best Buy or Circuit city and the extend warrantys are even more!

The online route is risky, bur zero sales tax which equates to big savings. So it looks like the quest will continue and more research is needed!

bestby.com has free shipping on all projection tv's. Ofcourse, when I tried, they said that shipping was not available in my area.

I recently got a Panasonic 65" Diamond series. It was very sweet, not as good as their Diamond series but those are almost doubled! Anyways, I don't remember where I got it from online, but it was $600 cheaper and no tax! Delivery fee was $160. When they came, took the box off, gave it back to the delivery guy to trash for another $20. Still alot cheaper than Best Buy down a few blocks...

Do some research on what TV you want, then get the model number and check out pricescan.com and pricegrabber.com. I've had great luck with these sites. The DVD players that I'm using list for 1100 dollars, and I got them for under 600 shipped.

I was going to get the Sony 53HS10 until I told my wife and she had a fit!

Check it out though. It's a sweet TV. Goes for around $2500.
