I would hate anything without a batheable water surface (at least a river with a waterfront walk) and possibly a mountain/valley, or at least some variation in the elevation and visible mountains.
I can't stand geographic emptiness.

Says someone from New Jersey.

Been to Florida easily a dozen times, as my Godmother has a house in the Keys.. Been to (East) Texas, because my ex has family there.

Both places are way too flat and way too hot.

I'll agree with the too hot comments. I like the cold weather of the north, but not the blue state politics.

Looks like an engineered Mecca. A polished veneer to hide the lack of culture, and class. Oh, and mosquitoes.

The lack of culture? You're obviously not speaking from experience living there. I'd say you're pulling these factoids out of your asshole.

Depends on your definition of culture.

This is Florida's culture:

Lived in Dallas and now moved to Florida. Liked San Diego the best of all the places I've lived at but too dang expensive. Life's too short, why choose. Try em all. I prefer ocean so Texas didn't cut it. Hate cold so had to be below 30th parallel to avoid winters.

It's unfortunate you can't appreciate both nature and cityscape.

I appreciate very nice cityscapes. But after a while, staring at tall concrete structures seems to lose a bit of its charm. Perhaps I'm misinterpreting your "both nature and cityscape", but the extent of nature there is incredibly minimal. I'm not saying that people shouldn't enjoy living in cities. In fact, it's better. Everyone should live there. But, don't abuse "nature" and think your city is surrounded by it, simply because you have some water.
My personal tastes - I wouldn't be too tolerant of living in a city because, with the exception of a couple of ghost cities in China, those cityscapes are always accompanied by noise. And, lots of it.

I don't like noise. And, my idea of seeing nature looks more like this:

Oh, and to the OP: Fort Worth.

Florida is home to 99% of the craziness in America. Also Orlando is really lame.

I don't like Texas either but I would move there over Florida.

If I had to pick, I'd go with Fort Worth. Not because I think highly of either place, but because DFW is a pretty major travel hub and it'll be easy to spend your weekends elsewhere should you choose to do so.

I live in South Florida. Don't ever move down here. If my family wasn't here I would have been gone years ago. I would take a 20k paycut a year to move my family to a different area.

Orlando is the only place I would live in Florida, given a choice. Orlando is a huge place so it is important to be specific. I like the Winter Park or downtown area. As a single male you will find a ton to do in those areas. They actually have a huge volleyball club near Baldwin park on the weekends. If you have a sick job, I would stay in Winter Park. If you have decent job get a place downtown or the historic district. If you live anywhere else in Orlando just shoot yourself.

Given the choice between the two cities I would pick Fort Worth because of the people/general culture/job prospects. Floridians are generally insane. It is kind of ridiculous.
