where to go to get an slr repaired

I got the camera from the parents. they say its broken, and don't know what is wrong with it. i have no clue whats wrong with it. I havn't tried to use it yet.

anyone have suggestions?

Try to use it. Figure out what is wrong. Go to a forum that deals with SLR's.
