Where to go for high-end stereo online shopping??

I'm trying to see if I can save some money by buying receiver and speakers online somewhere. I just don't know where to go. Considering the purchase will be around 10k i'm very wary of spending that kind of money online unless the retailer is sound. I've tried searching yahoo and google, but only find low-end gear sites.

Any suggestions?

Yes, they are a large legitimate dealer in the NYC area. But they are very expensive. People tend to shop there because of the knowledgeable sales staff. But you wouldn't get that kind of service on-line.

Edit: I've bought stuff from Audioadvisor too. They have very good selection of audio racks and mounts.

Go to your equipment manufacturer's website and see if they have a list of authorized dealers. That'll be a good starting point.

Listen first? Heck yeah.

But if I've already listened to the receiver and speakers then I've got a parts list that totals 10k (been shopping for a while and have final configuration). I figured I could save a few grand online. That would help 🙂
