Ok, I'm going to turn this into something constructive....

I'm thinking (just a whim), about taking up soprano sax. I played alto for 4 years. Where can I get a good, used sax? Anyone know any sites?

Thanks in advance.

I know, you're all happy for me. I'm bored, and it *is* the coldest weather I've ever seen.

I finally broke the 0°F mark. It's -1°F (-18.33°C). It's brutally cold outside.

Hey, what do you want? I'm from the deep south. -1°F would be a sign of the rapture there. :)

My advice is not to get a soprano. Good soprano sax players are always alto or tenors that double on soprano (Kenny G isn't a good player). Another reason is that a soprano sax is a bitch to play in tune, even for the pros. You really have to be able to play harmonics correctly before tackling the soprano. It takes a great deal of musicianship to be able to play a soprano and sound like Coltrane or Kenny Garrett. (Once again, Kenny G sucks)But, if you must, I think that Woodwind Brasswind has a great selection. For used, I'd go to a local shop, but do some research because beginner models usually suck..

P.S. Kenny Garrett is not Kenny G. Garrett played with Miles while Kenny G couldn't even play for Miles' dogs IMO.

Hey, that was a great post. Thanks, Piano Man.

You think I should go back to the alto, eh? I just might.

By the way, it's now -12F. ;)
