Where to get OCZ Value VX?

After reading up on how well OCZ Value VX performs, I decided this would be amazing bang for the buck ram to get. The problem seems to be how impossible it is to find this ram. If you do a search right here on AT for OCZ4001024WV3DC-K you'll find only one source and that is Monarch. On top of this, they are selling it for $140 or so, which may not be so bad since it is offered with free shipping.

Does anyone else know of sources that actually list the P/N, as to "guarantee" it really is Value VX?

Thanks for any help.

HUH???? WTF????? Wonder why they would have discontinued it, for the money it's one of the nicest out there. I am curious, did OCZ come out with anything else that is comparible for around the same price???

They cost almost exactly the same at Monarch Computing. I think this is probably still a really good value considering they were at the very top of the charts in basically every aspect, and the most important one for me, gaming, they always seemed to be in the top 5.

Anyone know if there is better ram at the price I'd have to get the Value VX for?

considering that the mushkin utt came out in april and lasted a month or two, ocz vx utt (untested), its more profitable for ram companies to bin the ic's, they sold some utt to get buzz about the new ram

Yeah, they were good and in the $110 range.

But now in the $150 range, are there any other 2x 512mb ram that is as good as the OCZ value VX and at the $110 price range?

You could try Crucial Value. AFAIK it's speed-binned Ballistix, so people have been getting good results with that as well.

You can always get Mushkin Redline PC3200. 🙂
I could also get OCZ 3200 Gold VX. IIRC OCZ 4k beats Redline 4k, so I am going to guess the same holds true for the most part comparing the 3200's.

You can find it for 120?! The cheapest I found is still 140 from Monarch.

Worst part is, is that it is still in production so there is a steady supply of it.
