Discussion Where to get Moderna booster shot if my first two were Pfizer?

Synomenon

Lifer
I've tried scheduling booster shots at the Walgreens / Kroeger, Walmart and CVS websites and they only allow me to choose a Pfizer shot instead of Moderna, since my first to shots were Pfizer.

Anyone know a company / site that will let me schedule a Moderna booster even though my first two shots were Pfizer?

Good question. They probably worry about liability. Have you also tried at your doctor's office? A lot of them do have vaccines. That's where I got a booster, but it was the same (moderna) as my previous shots. The doctor, even back in august said he thought they could be mixed. Now even the fda/cdc say it's OK.

My primary care doc. would normally be who I go to first, but he retired and I was never notified so now I'm without a primary care doc.. I may just accompany my Dad next time he goes to the VA and see if I can get it there.

In North Carolina I had a choice yesterday at my county vaccine center for my booster. Simple and easy. My daughter was at a Duke facility and got a Moderna booster she had Pfizer originally.

Ok so went to pickup groceries yesterday afternoon at a nearby Walmart. The pharmacy was still open so I asked. The pharmacist said he'd give me the Moderna booster if that's what I want, even though their website won't give you that option when scheduling a booster shot.

Yeah they won't let you get a booster of another version. If you really want one of the others, I'd recommend just starting a fresh vaccine card and getting it like it's your first time. The dosage between the booster and the first shot isn't that big of a difference.

*I think* when I scheduled at Walmart they asked which one I wanted and there was a box that was suitably vague about needing a different vaccine because “reasons”
I could be wrong but I sort of remember it.
Booster Moderna was done yesterday late afternoon for me. I am sore but nowhere near as sore as I was on dose #2.
I do recommend taking the day off or planning the next day during time that you don’t need to do anything important.

I don’t feel that bad, I do feel sore all over and I am pretty tired.
Call me out tomorrow and I will give a day two update.

Don't do it bro. Its untested and very new. Wait till more people do it first. There was several articles about people dying from the booster shots. I am holding off till more people go and do it first.

This is covid misinformation.

I was able to get a moderna booster this past Friday. The pharmacist at wally world was cool about giving me the Moderna. He actually asked me which booster I wanted before having me fill out their standard forms.

I did have a 101F fever for a couple of hours and my knees did feel sore on Saturday. After that I was fine.
