Where to get internal USB 2.0 to USB 3.0 adapter?

Hey all,

I just bought a Fractal R3 USB 3.0 version and it has a single USB 3.0 port in the front, I can't make use of it due to my motherboard not supporting USB 2.0, however I would like to make use of the spare port at USB 2.0 speeds.

Antec is handing these adapters out for users who bought a P280 without it and I'm having a very hard time finding one to buy... maybe because searching for 'Internal USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 Adapter' brings up too much spam in Google or the adapters aren't high enough in searches yet. I only went about 10 pages in.

There are plenty of these around:

Or you could buy something like this and disconnect/unscrew the USB ports from the backplate:

I have a cable-less one somewhere too, a small mini-pcb that plugs in to the mobo header and offers two USB female A ports.

That's internal 2.0 to external 2.0/3.0, for a pass through cable. We want a simple one that keeps everything internal, so we can use our standard motherboard cables and make use of usb 3.0 as 2.0 on the outside of the case.

Sorry, so you want a USB 3 20-pin male to USB 2 10-pin female. You'd think they would be readily available, but they don't seem to be. First choice would be to pester your case manufacturer (then other case manufacturers) for a single adapter. Consider a USB 3 expansion card with a 20-pin header. Or you could find something like this:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...d=1031403&p_id=8163&seq=1&format=1#largeimage

then go from there to either:

1) Male A to Male A and route it out to the back of the mobo
2) Get an internal 5-pin female to Male A (do these exist?)
3) Or an internal 5-pin to Female A (like this) and link the two with short A-A cable.

Hello,

this is my first and last post, sorry for that.
And i hope i don't bother you by digging this thread out of its 2 years old grave.

But i found this page per google because i have exactly the same problem, and i guess many other guests also find this thread per google, but don't get an answer to their problem.

I found almost the same adapter as shown in the picture of the opening-post on amazon. I may not be helpful for the threadstartet anymore, but i hope i can at least help other people like me who found this page per google.

Here you go:
