I've seen them around but don't remember where. Now that I want to install one myself, I can't find either who has used them or who carries/sells them. The one I am looking for installs in the front panel of a case, right into a 5 1/4" bay and outputs temperatures (both external and ambient I believe).

I am looking for the same thing. Someone suggested millisec. They have one that monitors 8 thermistors, 8 fans and replaces a 5 1/4" panel cover. It's $69 and out of stock.

I got an indoor/outdoor digital thermometer reading C & F at Radio Shack for $9.95, a small rectangular unit which I have sitting under my monitor (in front of keyboard). Plenty of cord to have sensor mounted in sink/chip area. Good display. Works great.
