where to get detailed stock price data

sorry, finger slipped.

I mean stock prices history in a nice convenient numerical table. For even an index is fine, the finer the detail (with respect to time), the better.

You can get them from yahoo.

Go to the chart of the stock, click on the historical prices near the bottom. You can get daily data over the time span that you want and the download data will format it into a comma delimited screen that you can paste into Excel.
