All the coins that I have saved up would most likely break the machine. Last count, I was up around 75lbs of assorted coins.

came back from washington mutual recently. i had about $75 in wrapped coins (no pennies). for the first time since i've done this, i was told that after 4 rolls they would charge $0.10 per roll. i thought this was incredible.
anyhow, so some people mention banks that don't charge for taking rolls or even some banks that have machines you can dump unsorted change into. which banks are these?
i also have a water cooler jar almost full of pennies, that i gotta take care of one of these days. would be nice if i could dump it into a machine somewhere without getting charged

I doubt you can walk into any bank and expect them to sort that much change for free. My bank is First National of Omaha, but I've never tried to do that much change there either. Call around and see what you come up with.

I believe BofA rolls are free, but you gotta do em yourself....
Coinstar will rape you, but it's a lot easier.

Well if you don't mind paying a few $$ to have it done there are machines around where you can just dump it in.
We have them at Kroger around here.
The only problem that I've had when turning in rolled coins at the bank was that they would insist that I put my name and social security number on the rolls. Had I known about this before I started rolling the coins, it would have been much easier to write the information on the paper rollers before inserting the coins.Originally posted by: Zenmervolt
Just go to the bank and ask for the rolls. They will give you the paper to roll the coins in for free. Roll the coins yourself and take them in to the bank.
