Where to Get BeOS?

I say skip the pro edition because you can get the developers edition for free. It has all the latest software and drivers. You can get it here. If you don't already know about the open source BeOS projects going on then you may want to check out Blue Eyed OS, Open BeOS, and Cosmoe. It looks like their may be a future for BeOS after all 🙂

Yellow Tab is working on a new commercial release of R5 with completely updated drivers and alot of apps. They have a license to distribute so its a legit version....looks interesting when its ready. They are at yellowtab.com.

Thank you very much, jcmkk for your help. I am very happy to learn about this. Although I had known about the open source projects, I felt that they were probably not ever going to reach fruition seeing as the company is now defunct. Without the commercial version available I reasoned that the demand for an open source version would slip as well.

Also thank you for informing me about yellowtab, earthman. It is something that should be followed up on in the monthes to come.

I really appreciate the response. I had never been able to get BeOS PE to work on my machine and had never been able to devote a machine to a full install in the past. Now that I can I want to experiment.

Actually OpenBeOS just reached milestone 1 not very long ago and everything is still full steam ahead. 😉
