I just got a new Dell pc for work and my old keyboard that I was using is not usb and thats all this pc has for ports. I have tried searching but found nothing so far. I cant stand this soft, quiet key crap. I prefer a straight, not curved or ergo keyboard as I type with one hand alot (autocad) and having the keys spaced out a lot like those do is a pain.

thanks.

Those active USB-to-PS2 controllers (often embedded into what looks like just a cable) work really well. If you want to keep using the devices you're used to, they're the way to go. Keyboards and mice will work just fine on them; drivers for some of the more unusual stuff like tablets might not find their device if it isn't on an actual legacy port.

I also had a very nice mechanical keyboard that was PS/2, and wanted to use it with the new KVM switch I got which had USB ports. I ended up buying this adapter with the cable:

IBM model M ps/2 cable USB adapter + short cable

Even though my keyboard wasn't IBM's (NMB with mechanical switches), the adapter worked very well. The service from that shop was prompt as well. Highly recommend it.

I have a Matias tactile pro. www.tactilepro.com

I'ts clicky, and it looks a whole lot better than a model M. It's USB and has a built in 2 port hub. It also has all the special chars written on the keys if your on a Mac. If you get it for a PC, I reccomend using Sharp Keys to remap the option and apple/command keys.

On the down side, there is no print screen or pause break. They use F13 to 15 instead. =(
