where to dispose engine coolant/anti freeze

yea i needed to find out too. got jugs of it building up in the garage😛

usually when i change my fluid i flush the system out pretty good so there's too much mess to bother with trying to collect it - i just let it run down the driveway into the street.
there's enough water mixed in there to keep it from killing any animals anyways

Write an note saying "used coolant" and leave it outisde your local garage at 2am. Works for used oil, too....

That isn't true, but anyhow I have heard to just flush it in the toilet also. Obviously if you're spending five days and driving all over the place you've put in too much effort already.

Correct. Don't pour outside or mix in oil etc... If you can;t find a place easy to take it, then pour in toilet or sink that gets it water processed.

Also with most cars 1-3 gallons of coolant is what is in your engine.

I usually just dump it out in front of the local vets office.

local waste collection (you have to bring it there) usually has a vat for it.

However, everyone I have talked to or read has shown it to be safe to dump directly into the normal drains. edit: A normal drain being one inside your home, not a sewer drain/storm drain.

You don't want to dump it anywhere a dog can get to it though, they love the taste and it will kill them.

I was meaning that with the amount of water I use to flush through it would be so diluted it wouldn't kill anything. Sorry for my vague wording.

If you're hooked up to a city sewer system, dump it in the toilet (NOT a storm drain--those are not treated). If you have a septic system, you'll need to take it somewhere.
