Where to buy wire.

I've found plenty of places online but I need it asap. 20 gauge 3 conductor colored wire would be perfect. Lowes just had larger sizes and at Radioshack even the speaker wire was 16 gauge and only clear or white. This is for wiring a friend's model train layout, so I'd need a big spool, maybe 500ft. Any common stores stock this?

Try your local electrical trade shop rather than the big box stores that carry the most commonly used stuff.

Try and electical shop (the one's that the local electricians would use for tools, etc..) or a hobby shop. I know that both of those shops near me carry it.

I bought 500ft of 20 gauge speaker wire (2 conductor) from Home Depot for $65. I am not sure if they have 3 conductor. (call them first)

If not home depot then check a local electrician supply store, they'll be able to get any kind of wire you need.

Thanks guys, I had to call four local HD stores but I found one that has 500ft 18-3 and 20-3 for $40. Much cheaper than I thought. I'm also getting banana plugs while I'm there, I don't need any help finding them, I just like saying banana plugs.
