Where to buy rowing machine?

So I've been considering getting myself a rowing machine for home use.

After reading around I think a Concept 2 would be a good buy.

My question to you is what store (online or B&M) is generally a good place to buy?

I found one for $700 at x-fitnessrower.com which seems to be a pretty good deal. (Compared to $900 on Amazon)

Anyone ever dealt with them or have any other suggestions on where to shop?

I'd check Craigslist first, then I'd look for a good B&M, and if I can't find any good deal, I'd buy from the cheapest online place I could find that I trust (which usually ends up as Amazon).

I am still considering a magnetic rower just for noise considerations. How much quieter are they? And does anyone have any brand/model recommendations?

Concept II is the only rower to buy IMO. Price is reasonable for the quality. Huge world wide following and user base. No downsides. The newest model D is not that loud.

I got mine from roguefitness.com

It is quality.

Update:

Got a WaterRower on Craigslist for $675 (the club version w/ S4 monitor).

I'm loving it. The water sound is super relaxing, and the quick upright storage is extremely convenient for me (Condo dweller)

Yeah my elliptical is one of the fold-up ones. Not as stable as a regular model, but being in a condo, I can fold it up & wheel it into a corner when not in use, really handy.

Good choice!

I too am interested in buying a rowing machine. Has anyone here have any info on "X-fitnessrowers.com? Their prices are really low for their Concept 2 rowers compared to other sites. I'm suspicious about ordering from there until I get feedback about them.

I have a Concept 2 Model D, and love it. It is very long though, so definitely do some research to make sure you have room. Of course, that goes for any rower.

I checked that "X-fitnessrowers.com" website, and it does seem rather suspicious. They don't even list a phone number.
