where to buy pistol mags?

pontifex

Lifer
I want to get some mags for my Taurus PT99. I'd like to have factory mags since I know they work great, but $40 a mag sucks.

I've bought Mec_Gar mags from CDNN for my CZ P-01 and I haven't had any troubles with those so I might go with Mec_gar for my Taurus.

CDNN wants 14.99 to ship 2 mags though. wtf?

Every other site I've found has the mags for higher price AND rapes you on shipping to boot. cheapest shipping I found is $7.99 at Ajax Grips.

Anyone know of any other mag suppliers that don't rape you on shipping and have decent prices?

Midway has some mec-gars 25-26 bucks. Mec-gars are nice, they make all the sig magazines as well.

hmm...how did i miss that? maybe i made a typo when searching.

still $9-10 for shipping though. but, these are factory mags, not 3rd party, so maybe it's worth the extra money. if the gun show doesn't have anything i'll probably order from bud's.

Just buy more to offset shipping for each magazine.

You can thank me by sending a couple p226 magazines my way. 😉

Last few times I bought some I got them from Midwayusa.com. They have always seemed to be pretty reasonable.

Wow, them things are expensive.

yeah, it sucks. I don't know why they have to be so expensive (at least the factory ones anyway). you can get 3rd party mags cheaper but they arean't always good quality.

You buy Taurus guns because they are cheap. Taurus is like HP. they'll sell you the main product for cheap, but when it comes time to get mags (ink) you gonna get raped.

Do Beretta 92 mags not work? I have a 96 and used police mags are dirt cheap.

bought a beretta 92 mag last weekend (for $40) and it doesn't fit all the way. I thought they were suppsoed to work since the taurus pt92 and beretta 92 were pretty much the same.

all mags are expensive, not just taurus. beretta 92 mags are $40 each as well.

Check a copy of Shotgun News. I have found some pretty good deals on factory magazines in there. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anyone carrying ANY magazines for the Springfield XD series of pistols. I suspect Springfield makes everyone come to them for their extras.

I don't know how much they are now, but the last time I checked on factory magazines for the Glock 17 and Glock 19, they were only $18.00 apiece new through several dealers in Shotgun News.

Not all mags are expensive.

AmmoClip

He does flat rate at $7 for shipping.

Beretta 92 mags are $28 for factory new. I don't have a Taurus copy but also assumed they were interchangeable with mags. His PT99 mags are around $40 though, but shipping is cheaper 🙁

I'll check some other sources and see if they have PT99s

Shop the local gun shops / ranges. They are usually seriously good relationships to have when you suddenly need a gunsmith or want range time on a busy day. 🙂

Otherwise, MidwayUSA is good, too.
