Where to buy patch cables in bulk?

Hi - I need to purchase approximately 60 cat5e or cat6 patch cables very soon. Anybody have a reccomendation as to where to get these for as little as possible? Thanks!

edit: I can't quite figure out why I wrote cat53... Oh well edited now.

That looks pretty good (though there website just went down for some reason) - I'll go with them if I can't find anything better in the meantime.

So now my question is - is there a big difference in quality between cables? I mean some don't have boots, and some do. Also I've noticed that some have stiffer wire than others (any way to avoid this? I'd hate to have to deal with that nasty stiff stuff). But besides those two things - do cables differ much in quality? Some of these will be used on gigabit ethernet connections - so I'd like them to be as good as possible

By the way - It looks like we'll need probably about 30 3' and another 30 5' cables.

Make sure ya get stranded stuff if you want flexibility. Solid core stuff is a little stiffer, and will break if bent around enough. For gigabit get the cat5e or better.

Rackmount Solutions

I got this reference from another AT'er (wish i could remember their name so i could thank them). I order a lot of network cabinets and patch cables from them. Friendly service, prompt shipping. One of those companies i actually enjoy dealing with.

Their 3 ft. patch cable's are $1.25/ea. I just ordered 30 about 3 weeks ago - never had any problems w/ their products. Highly recommended :)

Boot'd 3 ft cables are still more expensive then Rackmount Solutions. Why would you want to use bootless cables anyway?

booted cables do not work as well as bootless. It is very easy to NOT get a booted cable in far enough, and think you did. Lots of fun :p

My experience is that booted cables can be a real pain in the ass. I prefer no boots.

I dunno - I've had some bad experiences with bootless cables - so nowadays if I have a choice - I go booted.

never had that issue. Always make sure i lift the plastic tab a bit before inserting so i hear a nice click. No click = not seated.

How does the boot effect the connection? I would think it would have a lot more to do with the actual plug itself.

Somethimes the boot can make it difficult to get the plug out of the socket. I've had to take sissors to many a boot and trim it. The boot is there to prevent snags. Not much of a problem really.
Then again if you're doing 60 computers then you're probably very experienced and know what you are doing. Good luck.

Well I ordered from Rackmount Solutions - and I concur - they were a pleasure to order from. I talked with two different people and they both were incredibly nice and polite. Excellent prices too. Thanks for the reccomendations everybody!

No problem. Very kind people at Rackmount and i like to spread the word when i find a reasonable, honest and friendly service or company. Glad everything worked smoothly.
