Just curious - went over to this guy's house for a 4th of July celebration back in July - he had some custom setup to simultaneously ignite some rockets as well as launch them in a row, using gunpowder and some fuse line. It came in a little black bottle that looked like a creatine bottle. Just curious where one buys gunpowder from

Gun shops, sporting good stores.... People load their own cartridges, and some people use black powder guns. So you can buy the stuff. It's totally harmless too. Try to keep large stockpiles in one place in your house. Firefighters call that a "whacky suprise."

Do not make your own fuse. If you are going to do some custom stuff, buy as much premade materials as possible. then contact Monel, and have him do it. He still has all his limbs AFAIK.

You can make your own gunpowder, just like Capt. Kirk did.

Just make your own. The only thing you need is saltpeter and wood matches.
Strip sulfur from matches. Then burn the sticks. Mix the sulfur with saltpeter and burned wood. Grind into a powder.

Those "wacky surprises" tend to get people hurt...the moment a firefighter gets hurt, all "firefighting" stops until that person is rescued. Good way to get the house burned down.

It was a joke. Black powder is very very dangerous. I get scared just having a small amount for reloading.

I hope that you reload cowboy cartidges, then- put BP into a modern firearm and you're asking for trouble.

For the OP, I'd suggest either hitting a fireworks shop or getting model rockets or something. Gunpowder, be it black powder or the modern smokeless, is tricky. You can do it just wrong and get either nothing or a dangerous explosion.
