I'm looking to start making my rig soon i got it all worked out and avg price. But some of the compnents i want, i have no idea where to buy them. I'm having trouble finding where to buy this stuff.
-------------------------
2x DDR400+ Corsair Cas2 512mb w/ heat spreaders
2x Nec/Mitsubishi/Sony 19" Real nice CRT
Nice Copper hsf, dun care about brand just a top i the line one for AthlonXP sock462
ASIII
2xRetail 1200JB WD SE (the 8mb buff one)

Those are the components i'm having a hard time finding. I don't like buying online but it looks like i will haved to buy the corsair memory and stuff online. And why are there like NO retail 120gb WD drives... There all OEM, there not a cardboard shortage or anything right?

I don't like to buy stuff from bestbuy since there way overpriced like for moniters ect. Most Mom+Pop pc stores around here are expensive. There is the Marketpro pc show which is where i'll be buying most of the parts but they r horrible when it comes to moniters, speakers, and decent ram, hsf's.

BTW: what could make a nice RAID 0 controller? I don't like the cheap-o ones, don't trust em. I was looking at the Promise Fasttrak100TX4 RAID card.

Very reliable sources for purchasing online ar both

NewEgg
and
S V C

For monitors & such, look for specials from CompUSA and Fry's that offer rebates, as the freight
can be costly for monitors, and the handling has been suspect or negligent.

Where do you live?:Q

No seriously, find a reputable vendor near you that takes will call, so you can save on the huge costs for delivering your monitors and parts.

In LA, I get all my stuff from www.mwave.com. Just go to pricewatch, and call all the vendors and ask them if they do 'will call.'

Good luck.
