does anyone know any good online stores or retail stores? and dont tell me radio shack, cuz their LEDs suck and are expensive. they dont even have the 3mm that im looking for!
theres so much stuff on digikey that i cant figure it out...bgmicro is good...if the shipping aint so high, but thats okay, the problem is that i cant find any 3mm BLUE LEDs there...
Just bought one from directron. They're pre-wired, and have connectors. They aren't too bright, kind of slightly lighter than royal blue, but definitely not dim. They look great!! My wife even likes it. 🙂
You can expect to pay around $3 for a nice blue LED. I like to order from mpja.com when I buy a bunch of other things. When I just need some LEDs, Radio Shack is nearby and I dont have to pay shipping 😉
look at the last link on the page, near the bottom, the link before radioshack. its goldmine.com and they say they have 3mm blue LEDs for 69 cents. I went to the site, but their catalogue is HUGE! i could only find them for $1 on that site, but if i think about it, its still really cheap. let me know if you find any. thanks!
ive done it already. went to frys and picked up 3 3mm blue leds. works greaT! i have the microsoft internet keyboard. wasnt hard at all. first time soldering too!
That's how I did my case mod... I just went to Norvac (love that place) and picked up some 5mm blues and went at it. My power and HDD lights are frickin' bright now 🙂
i replaced my led with blue ones and i got them from radio shack. they have two types,
one is 3.0 volt and the other one is 5.0 volt (part no. 276-311). i bought the 5v looks nice.
Well, if my local Fry's doesn't end up having the 3mm blue LEDs, I'll have to pay an arm and a leg to get 'em online. Oh well, the stuff we go through for mods 🙂
