I need a good, cheap store to buy prototype breadboards, resistors, transistors, capacitors, leds ect!

B&M stores and online stores welcome! Oh yeah I am in buffalo, and need this crap for my ee lab.

Thanks, I appreciate your suggestions!

Digikey has an awesome selection of products but for orders less then $25 they tack on a $5 handling charge. For small orders I usually go with Jameco or radioshak B&M. If you don't wind up ordering from digikey this time, request a copy of their catalog anyway, sooner or later you'll use them.

I would just run down to my local Fry's, but you people in NY seem to have a problem with that.

Anyone knos wthe cheapest place to get a hige assortment of electrical stuff? Like 1/4 watt resisers by the lb, along with led's, caps, and whatnot?

Jameco is decent with 2000 mixed 1/4 watt resisters for $22, wut I am wondering if it is possable to do better. My supply is running low.

Those are expensive. I paid 99 cents for 5 yes, count them, 5 1/4 wat resisters. I needed them that minute unfortunately. Notice MaDHaVoK said "cheap" :D

Shipping will kill you on small orders more than any added fee.
I would check to see what your universities chapter for IEEE or HKN(though technically part of IEEE now) have for sale as well if you won't be ordering in huge quantities.

When I was in school, we had a well-stocked EE stores on the second floor of Everitt Lab. Don't all EE schools have something similar?

Since leaving school, I order from Mouser or Newark or Digikey. If it's for work, we have a system set up with corporate discounts in place to buy this stuff.
