where to buy an LCD?

Go to a brick and mortar, see if they will price match against Newegg or amazon, and then just do that.

never been to a store that would pricematch anything other than an ad. and even then, they'll be dicks about it (and they don't have to match it if it's not in stock).

isn't dell supposed to be fairly good in this respect? they also have a crapload of good monitor deals, usually.

if you want to be sure, bring an inverter. and a laptop. test it in the store or in the car before leaving. but yea thats the problem with buying online, u are pretty screwed if theres dead pixels. even if they do take it back its major major hassle

Personally I like to get my LCD's (if I have the cash) at Costco. They have a double the manufacturers warranty on all electronics, IIRC. I had a TV go out on me right around the 2 yr limit and they gave me store credit for it (full price!!). All I had to have is the manual and remote that came with it. Another benefit is you can see the LCD next to other and you can also double check where all of the connections are and the basic look of it too!! I don't know if you have one nearby, but I'd check them out.

No they don't, they have a 3+ pixel or more policy. But they have a 21 day satisfaction guarantee in which you can do an exchange for a new one, or get refund within the time period.

Edit: Found the policy: Jump

Some online merchants allow you to pay extra for a no dead pixel guarantee. E.g. NCIXUS. I bought a monitor through them without it (since it was on super sale) and luckily everything worked out fine.
