I have to buy a monitor pretty soon and i was wondering where a good place to buy it...Frys, Bestbuy, online...etc? Also, what brands should i look for in purchasing a monitor...i kinda want to get a good quality one since i'm in front of computer all the time. Thanks!

Fry's is a good place to buy a monitor, but most of the time you can find it cheaper online. Do some shopping around and you can find a place that won't kill you on shipping or has free shipping. Monitors I like are Viewsonic, Sony and Samsung.

Without question, the best place to buy a new monitor is staples. Especially online. The reason is simple they price match and they have great coupon codes. right now for instance you can use a $40.00 off $200.00 purchase.so if you find a monitor your interested in let me know and i could help you out.........even though your a Laker fan. j/k.

There are alot of good monitor's out there. be more specific as to what you want. 19"? 17"?/ Trinitron? Diamondtron?/ Apeture grille? Shadow mask?

Thanks for the replies.

Bojax, I'm looking for a good 19" monitor. I have no idea what is good or what sucks. All I know is that I want something good so my eyes don't get all messed up. I'd really appreciate the help...there are real Laker fans who aren't shallow punks that follow the bandwagon...haha.

pcworld.com top ten 19" monitor's
You will hear alot of Different opinion's from alot of different people. I personally have been researching for a 19" monitor for over 3 week's now. I have gone to several retail stores and viewed them. I have also read several review's. As well as posted question's here on the forum. Flat screen monitor's are the going thing now. It is said the flatter the better. I don't neccesarily subscribe to that. Of all of the monitor's i have personally viewed,I did not think the flat screen was so much superior to the slightly curved crt. I viewed a couple viewsonic's that were not flat that i thought looked alot better than some of the flat screen's. I do think Trinitron is the way to go and i personally like the apeture grille more than shadow mask. KDS makes a very nice looking trinitron AG.
The AV-190TF i think it is. I will be buying one next week, i am probably going to go with the Samsung 950P. I havn't heard a bad thing about it yet. And the price is only about $240.00 shipped or so.

Do a search for monitor's here also, you will find many good suggestions from folk's that are much more knowledgable than i am on these matter's. But as a consumer i am very thorough in my research. Hope this help's.

Bo

Thanks Bo! Are you going to be buying from staples.com? What do i have to do to get the 40 dollar coupon and also pricematch. I live in Cali, so I probably would get taxed for buying online...🙁

Yes i will buy from staples.I will get taxed as well. but i live in washington. That is the way staples work's.They apply state tax. We are not suppose to list coupon codes on thread's. You can go to the hotdeals forum and read some threads there. You will find what you are looking for.

If your really wanting something for quality and easy on the eye's, i'm sure just about everyone will agree that The Samsung 900NF is a good choice. I have heard great thing's about this one. Havn't seen it though.

Bo, how much total will you be spending on your monitor? Also, can you please give me the link to the monitor at staples.com...i keep searching their website and I can't seem to find the monitors section 😱
